Role of an economic operator in the supply chain. The six ESPR / EN 18239:2026 4.2(1) economic-operator sub-roles (manufacturer, authorised representative, importer, distributor, dealer, fulfilment service provider) plus the EUDR (EU) 2023/1115 Art. 2 supply-chain positions (producer, operator, trader, downstream operator) and processor; every member is also an oec:ActorRole. One role vocabulary for every regulation module - no module mints its own.

| AuthorisedRepresentative Authorised Representative | Entity authorised by manufacturer to act on their behalf for specific tasks (per ESPR Article 16). |
| Dealer | Distributor or any other natural or legal person that offers products for sale, hire or hire purchase, or displays them to end users in the course of a commercial activity, including distance selling and putting into service (ESPR Art. 2; EN 18239:2026 4.2(1)(e)). |
| Distributor | Entity in the supply chain that makes a product available on the market, other than manufacturer or importer. |
| DownstreamOperator Downstream Operator | Entity that receives products already placed on the EU market and makes them available further downstream, subject to simplified due-diligence obligations (introduced by the December 2025 EUDR amendment). |
| FulfilmentServiceProvider Fulfilment Service Provider | Entity providing fulfilment services including warehousing and order processing (per ESPR Article 17). |
| Importer | Entity established in the EU that places a product from a third country on the Union market. |
| Manufacturer | Entity that produces the product, including own-brand labellers per EU Market Surveillance Regulation 2019/1020. |
| Operator | Entity that places products on the EU market or exports them from it (EUDR (EU) 2023/1115 Art. 2(15)); the EUDR name for the economic operator placing on the market, kept for EUDR records. |
| Processor | Entity that processes raw materials or components into finished or intermediate products. |
| Producer | Entity that produces or harvests the commodity at the start of the chain (EUDR (EU) 2023/1115 supply-chain position; moved here from the former eudr:ActorRole). |
| Trader | Entity that buys and sells products without significant modification or processing; under EUDR (EU) 2023/1115 Art. 2(17) the person who makes products available on the market after the operator. |
